I just picked up a tailgate gasket and new support cables. I'll have pics and lessons learned to post this weekend.

Havent had a chance to do much on this as yet the joys of being self employed, but finally got the holden motor out the other day. Dropped that off today & picked up the 305, now the giant jigsaw puzzle begins. Bought a flexplate & bolts plus top & bottom pulleys today, got bell housing bolts coming over night. Going to write up a list of all i need as pretty much no bolts for anything, got a holley blue pump in another deal so i'll use that.
Got a new 450 mechanical secondary quickfuel slayer carb for it, hei dizzy & eldebrock manifold there. No idea if the headers will fit till i get the engine in so time will tell on those - have to cut the made up mounts off the front crossmember as well & get the bottom mounts bolted up so yeah bit to do but good things take time:cool:

So been chasing a rusty old malibu here in nz for a good 6 to 8 months, these are super rare here be lucky if there's a handful from what I've heard. So after a 12 hour drive today i finally secured it, i wont be using the suspension or wheels i'll be on selling that but the rest will give me everything needed to get mine on the road. Now the interesting bit with this is it's meant to have a 350 in it but from what i've found on the net its a 69 Z28 302 - engine number 3970010. Please correct me if the info i found is wrong, never dealt much with these engines so on a learning curve...
Anyways heres some pics & trust me this thing is rotten...

The chances of that 010 block being a 302 is ..... almost zero. It could be a 307, 327 or 350 in stock form.

You’re my hero with that single axle trailer pulling with a Ute (I think) For 12 hours. Holy shut, how’d that go and stop :):)

That is non rusty unit here. Sometime when you’re halfway around the globe we’ll make a visit to the local pick n pull and check some 10 year old rust buckets.

Great score though!
