82 Malibu Wagon in New Zealand

So what's everyone running for headers on these, ones i had here dont even come close to fitting. Cant get any in New Zealand so i'll have to use ebay us which is dicey if i buy the wrong ones, any info will be much appreciated Cheers

Getting there with all needed bits now on this - new engines out in front of her. Bought a set of headers from Ecklers just over a week ago & they're in New Zealand now will be dropped off Monday, cant believe how fast they got here. Got a finned alloy sump on order that's the final piece then i can chuck everything together - will get a sump gasket this week & new set of frost plugs as might as well do everything while its out. Painting the engine chev orange with a heap of bling so should look good 👍 😉

Finally got the engine in the shed & on the stand, being self employed i dont get a lot of me time so progress is always slow but pretty sure i'll get a quiet period of xmas new years so fingers crossed might get her running at last. Got a heap of new gear all sitting here for the engine - gaskets - frost plugs & all the alloy stuff i bought so will chip away at it as time allows. Just gave it a good soaking with degreaser so let that soak for a bit then get the pressure washer out later hopefully 👍 😉

Made a start on the 350, clean her down replace the frost plugs ( wise move old ones were thin as ) .
Sump balancer and timing cover still to remove then once clean enough paint her up & get it back together. Still have to clean the engine bay in the Malibu before it can go in but each step is a step closer
😗
👍

Well the alloy sump didnt fit so went with the chrome sump instead - put the timing cover on & did a parts run this morning now the parts stores open & got rocker covers & a new water pump. Got a carb spacer on there but not sure if it will clear under the bonnet i'd say someone on here will no for sure, tempted to bang an air cleaner through the bonnet but i'd never get another bonnet here if i wanted to change it later.
Now to get the engine bay ready over the next week or so as time allows then get this in & sort the rest of it out.... 😉 👍

So the 0010 block turned out to have 350 guts? The parts car is a 1980 from the grille. Did someone import it as a lowrider from the States?

Yeah from what i could find out were pretty sure it's a 71 to 78 350, not sure on the history on the parts wagon. Guy got it off his uncle years ago who apparently had it for a number of years also, bit of a waste how it was left to sit & rot but it's made my life so much easier having every needed part sitting here
