'83 Cutlass Cruiser Build Thread

Been debating adding the vinyl woodgrain trim around the car once it's painted. Should I do it?

The buckets look good in there, Blake.
Oh oh, what are you buying now?

Thanks Jack!

I found an Olds 455 out of a '68 Toronado on Craigslist, and couldn't talk myself out of buying it.
I'm going to pick it up later this week...

Nice! I thought when I read that at first that it might be a 455. And its an early model so you dont have to worry about smog heads.

BTW, I will be going to carcraft this year. I havnt decided what I am bringing but I will be there.

Hells yeah dude!!
Bring the Cutlass! There's already enough f-bodies there as it is...
My buddy and I will be there with the 442 and the GN.
Back To The 50's is this weekend too...

My sister in law reminded me that the Back to the '50's show is this weekend. She's been coaxing me to come up. Unfortunately Can't do it this weekend. When is the Car craft meet and where is that one held?

If you guys do go, could you snap some pics of some cool G-body's....especially wagons

Car Craft is July 20-22.
It's held at the state fair grounds in St. Paul, same as BTT50's.
I forgot my camera last year, but I'll definitely get lots of pics this year...

Maybe I'll try to get up there for the Car Craft show...It's a long road trip, but flying is such a hassle these days.
If I do make it up, I'll try to find you among the sea of cars.

Hi Blake!

I sent my registration in last week. I'll be there again with the wagon, but the G/A is running. I'm going to try and get the same spot as last year. It was further away from the "action" but I found that to be a bit more relaxing and the tree cover and breeze was great through that area. I stayed cool while most people were baking in the sun. I also got to see all the cars as they drove in.

Shade is a precious commodity!
Especially when dick-bags are showing up as early as Tuesday to save spots lol...
I'll have to come check out the progress on the Grand Am!
If I don't see you before, I'll see you at the show.

On a wagon related note, I'll be picking up the 455 Sunday evening...

Picked up the 455 yesterday evening.
Unloaded it this morning and got it on the stand.
Ran the numbers an it's a '73 motor, not '68...
I guess that's what I get for giving someone off Craigslist the benefit of the doubt...
Oh well... I'll probably clean it up, throw it in there and beat on it for a while.
