'83 Cutlass Cruiser Build Thread

Been debating adding the vinyl woodgrain trim around the car once it's painted. Should I do it?

Blake,
Is this going into your wagon? I guess '73 had the smog heads, huh? It's still a 455. I'm sure set up with a few tweaks here and there, it should be a nice stout, torquey motor.

I think the lowest torque in the Olds 455 was just under 500...that 455 shouldn't have any problem keeping your rear tires clean..

Well, the '73 Toronado 455 is still good for 260 hp & 380 ft. lbs., so it should still be plenty of fun in the wagon!

The previous owner robbed all the brackets, pulleys, flexplate, distributor and push rods.
I've got lots of parts to gather, but that's not a big deal...

Fancy! Looks like you need to make a run to Rohners.

Looks like I will be at Carcraft on Sat-Sun with the cutlass. The paint needs to be buffed out but it looks better than some of the cars there.

Yeah, I'm planning on making a run out to Rohner's in the next few weeks if I can...
Hit me up at the show... If you don't still have my number I'll pm it to you.
I'm half-way tempted to bring the wagon to the show just out of laziness
The 442 needs some work and it's been so goddamn hot out I haven't gotten a thing done...

Not much to report on the wagon.
It's just been sitting for the past couple weeks now while I drive my Caprice since it's my only car with a/c...

Wagon started running like poo last nite on the way to work.
Got home this morning and did the old 'water on the header tubes' trick... #2 was cold.
Pulled the plug and a chunk of carbon or something was stuck in between the plug gap.
Knocked it out, threw it back together and it's good as new...
Who says cars need computers?

The wagon went into storage Wednesday... 🙁

Nothing new to report... It gave me yet another season of trouble free daily driving.
Can't decide if I'm going to pull it apart in the spring for paint or just keep driving it like it is...

Ah, you put it in hibernation for the winter. Winter does come early in your part of the country.

Realistically I could still be driving it, but I don't like cutting it too close with the weather up here...
It's been nice and dry so I preemptively parked it since my storage spot for it is 25 miles away from my house.
A couple years ago we got an early snow storm that I had to drive around in for a couple weeks.
I didn't like getting the snow/ice/chemicals all over it...
