Re: '83 Regal LTD build

Well, this past weekend I actually worked on the Regal a little 😀 I finally gave in and purchased a very nice 3 1/2 TON floor jack. I got my entire car up off the ground. Got the ramps under the rear tires and the jack stands up under the front. I got my left side header installed. I got my mini starter installed.
This weekend I get to crawl under there and get my electric fuel pump mounted up and run my new fuel line. I'll get my canister fuel filter mounted to the firewall as well. Wire up the starter. Run my transmission cooler/lines. Install my right side header. Get the exhaust bolted back up to the headers. Re-check bolts (torque converter, transmission, driveshaft...)

That is my goal for this weekend.

I also have to replace a fan clutch on an '01 Dakota 5.9L :blam:

Re: '83 Regal LTD build

Bout time  I'm glad you were able to find time. When you get to my place next week I have a few automotive projects you can tackle.

Re: '83 Regal LTD build

This coming weekend is looking pretty promising for getting some work done on the Regal. My wife and little boy are going to a company picnic with her sister. I placed a Summit order yesterday for some last minute things. I am really hoping to get the car running this weekend

Re: '83 Regal LTD build

Man I wish I was there to help ya out, I feel totally used when you visited. We cleaned out the storage unit but you did not clean my firebird nor work on my truck. Haha, kidding man, I hope you get it running this weekend. I want videos!!!!

Re: '83 Regal LTD build

I received my CompCams 1.6 rockers today :!: Along with, a kickdown cable bracket, alternator bracket and plug wires. I ordered an aluminum fan shroud but I am going to have my fabricator buddy make a radiator hold down, so it is all one piece

Re: '83 Regal LTD build

Got some time to work on the Regal this weekend 😀

I mounted the electric fuel pump and ran the new fuel line all the way to my new canister style fuel filter that I mounted to the heater delete plate.
I ran my new transmission line and mounted the auxilary transmission oil cooler in the top left corner of the radiator.
Installed my new CompCams aluminum 1.6 roller rockers. I haven't done the final adjustment on them, but they look amazing 8)
Installed my alternator bracket and alternator.
Installed my oil fill tube in the front of my TORKER
Installed my throttle return spring bracket assembly.
Installed my kickdown cable bracket (its going to need some fabricating to working properly)
Routed my wiring around the engine bay (starter and alternator) still have to wire up the electric choke, fuel pump and trunk mounted battery.
Installed my headers.

I am getting so close to having this thing running and getting so excited :wax:

Re: '83 Regal LTD build

Your almost there man, cant wait for the first burnout video

Re: '83 Regal LTD build

Well, my progress is moving like a snail but its getting there. This past weekend I got the exhaust all bolted up and hung back in place. I mounted and ran the wiring for my battery, from the trunk. I got the electric fuel pump wired up.

I got the new rockers adjusted a couple of weeks ago and reinstalled my intake 8)

Went through and double checked tightness on exhaust, driveline and fuel system

Filled the cooling system (distilled water and NAPA KOOL) no antifreeze yet

The only thing I have left to so is prime the oil pump, drop the distributor in and fire her up

(I'm sure something else will come up, but that is my "To Do" list for now 8)

Re: '83 Regal LTD build *UPDATE 9/8*

She has power :!: I finished the wiring tonight and attached the ground wire to if things were correctly connected. It will be getting fired up and broken in this weekend

There is an issue though ... the headlight warning/door ding, beep is continuous unless I put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position :? What would cause this to happen :?:
