If you end up going the reman route be sure you follow the installation requirements to the letter and document everything. Hopefully you won't ever need to make a warranty claim, but if you do you won't get burned by any technicalities.
Yeah, i weighed the pros and cons. Since I know who (or I should say Where) the old owner was, and this car wound up in the police impound (assuming he got arrested for something). (I know Im profiling like a ****, but Im half Puerto Rican, so I guess a pass) Im thinking P/O didnt break in the engine properly or something. based on some of the other stuff I saw on this car, he probably raced it first day with no oil...lol who knows, but im going to take my chances with this new one with the 3 yr warranty. makes me feel better. i will follow the instructions to the T.Unfortunately your motor is a good example of a reman. Make sure you follow what they want for the warranty so it doesn't become void. Yeah a late 70's 350 is an upgrade, basically the same power as the 307 HO.
