Yesterday spent blocking with 220. A few low spots tended to. This morning laid down 2 coats of hi build reduced about 15% trying to keep orange peel to minimum. I believe it worked

Yesterday I spent blocking lid with 320 then 400. It's perfectly smooth and flat. Time will tell and hopefully next week I'm going to seal it AND put 2 coats of paint. Didn't get pic of top side before I flipped it over. Now inside trunk lid I had stripped and epoxyed and it sat a few days. The stand It's on with the cushion embedded said cushion in primer so I'm cleaning it. I'm past window so I need to sand before another epoxy coat then paint. Can I just use maroon scotch brite pad or do I need to use 400 ????

red pad's fine.the pad won't remove the texture like sand paper but it's enough to provide for adhesion.i'd sand what's accessible enough and red pad the hard to sand/crevices type areas

In process of sealing. Going to wait at least an hour and make my first attempt at actual paint.
I have a small run maybe half an inch long right where an edge meets the top surface of lid.
Can I try to use a razor blade to cut it? The paint is single stage and i don't think I should spray over it. But I am not sure. If I need to wait longer that's not a problem. Meaning, another day or so then cut and hit it with 400 ???
Help !!! 😆

Well I kinda made it worse. I'm going to wait until tomorrow then hit it with 400wet and throw a light dusting of epoxy back on. Then I'll be able to paint after flashing off. Learning curve is a steep one 👌

Yesterday was epoxy sealer. The run i had is gone via wet sanding and a light dust of epoxy. Then I laid down 3 coats of single stage. It's hard to show the gloss due to inadequate lighting. It's not perfect. There is slight orange peel. But I did my best 😌 No runs or any real dirt that I can see but when she gets sunlight on her I'm sure I will. Last picture is where run was. No evidence of it.
