unless you plan on buying shifter, spoiler, scoop, i would install a BBO, SBO. Shifters, what makes it a hurst, my 2 cnets.
I guess I could always store the original engine and drop a 350 sbo in but id rather not have to store the damn thing

if its the OG motor keep it stock, if not i would drop a 455 in there 8) last 6 digits from the vin should match with the engine stamp. I have a pic in my build thread where the stamp is located.

Ok I will triple check the numbers but I'm pretty damn sure its the "OG" motor, 455 just sounds like big big money (motor + rebuild, Trans Rebuild, Exhaust, Beefy Suspension, Upgraded Cooling etc. idk)

Sounds good man, I'm actually in the south burbs tho, I plan on having this whole motor thing figured out before the new year

It's a nice car, just sucks that every little thing was taken off of it that made it a Hurst. All that small stuff gets expensive to buy individually, let alone find someone that is selling those parts.

With all the stuff missing from it, I would just put in whatever engine you want and have fun with the car. Hell, a 350 would be faster than the stock engine, lol. I have a 455, I highly recommend it. Even stock, I can run a low 14 on bald street tires

Ok understandable I still have the sbo350 from my Regal that could use a fresh rebuild, it was plenty peppy even with all the sludge in it lol. So maybe that's a good one to use it already has an edlebrock intake, all I'd really need would be full exhaust system. I also have LT1 dual fans, a new hayden trans cooler, new carpet (blk tho) and the lighting rod shifter im getting in a trade for my hurst v matic. I would really like to get the w30 hood and repro spoiler from lauren eng. I've seen the dash, header panel stickers and console plate for decent prices. Steering wheel refurb is all that pricey either. What kind of mpg's do you get with the 455?

So I took a few more pics this evening, nothing major just the trunk and a few more ext pics.......uploading soon........maybe i can do some small projects like dyeing my lower door panels and rear side inserts, recovering the headliner and sun visors as well....but im on call @ work so who knows how my weekend is gonna go

i would do a older olds 350 with the # 4 or # 5 heads.thats a easy swap, you can even use the same trans and driveline.as far as the 307 goes,i would wrap it in plastic and put it on a small engine cart and save it in case you ever decide to sell the car.it will keep its value if you save as much of the stock parts as you can.looks like a good project and a great price to start.

yea I found a 72 sbo350 with #7 heads for 250$ that needs a rebuild, I'm thinking thats the route togo since my other sbo350 w/#2 heads has me second guessing it due to the front end of my Regal having relations with a fire hydrant. I'm worried it may be cracked somewhere so I'd hate to send it to the machine shop and find out later so I'd rather just pick up another block. I have modest goals 375hp 400tq at the flywheel is all i'm looking for. I would tho keep as much as the factory junk connected as possible if not all of it and make it a real sleeper.
