Oil sending unit GM p/n if you need it: 459417 superseded to 14036243 superseded to 19244933.

Headlamp switch GM p/n: 1972717. The new ones since 1987 has the round bulb on the switch pad. The original one with the ovoid looking side view of a headlight shares the same part number. If yours is bad, the new one fits and works, but I'd try to find a good used original style if possible. JMO.

Turn signal switch if you have issues (with tilt and intermittent wipers CD4): 1997983 (ACDelco #D6222)

High beam switch down on the column: 7838234

Pulse wiper switch w/CD4: 7843683 (This is the EXPENSIVE ONE)

When the rheostat for the gage dimmer is all the way off, the lights work right.

If I use the gage illumination the hi beam indicator turns on for low beams and off for hi beams. Also a turn signal indicator lamp stays on.

Might be a foil circuit problem? Gages all work correctly.

Do you have a number for the instrument panel lighting dimmer rheostat?

I am only finding the headlamp switch w/o interior dimmer new. Only finding the combo switch used on ebay.

I will take a look at it today. Maybe I can find a fix. The problem likely is the foil circuit.

You might try pulling your switch and cleaning it up. Try this, they sell it locally at Guitar Center or you can find it easily online.....

Correct style headlamp switch for your 84. You'll probably only find these used. NOS with the oval headlight icon is hard as hell to find NOTE: (separate instrument panel dimmer is the roller mentioned in post #348 above)

The replacement switch which was common in 87/88. They simply have the new icon, otherwise they're identical in operation and otherwise. Weird thing they both share the same part number.

Hmmm. I guess it's no longer a priority?
