Since an Olds 350 is the same block as the 307, I think this would be the best route for you to go. All or your accessories and brackets would bolt right up to on Olds 350 or 403, and transmission too.

You ever find out what gears you are running? Those could make a huge difference in feeling any punch off the line.

oh, I'd start thinking about options for transmissions if you want to upgrade to a 350 anything. The 200 M is not worth rebuilding, and won't hold up in stock form for too long. I hear it even has some plastic internals.

ok lets see RPO Codes
I have:
LV2 - Olds 307 standard v8
G72 - 2.14 gear ratio
G89 - 7.5in 10 bolt axle
MV9 - 3 speed auto (THM-200)
V2E - Standard Suspension Designator
BS1 - Extra Sound Deadener
BX2 - Lower Body Side Moldings
C04 - Landau Top

weird thing my door panels say Brougham but i dont have the RPO for brougham

and i did my tune-up and all the old plugs were gapped at about .45-.55 thousandths of an inch

Ha! You got the tallest ratio GM put in their cars  It's ok, I have 2.29s 😉 If you want good acceleration and decent mileage, you may want to look into an overdrive trans & gears. The gear spacing on the 3-speed autos aren't all that great for acceleration. A 2004R you can bolt in with no modification (just need the crossmember & driveshaft, and trans that fits your block), and with a set of 3.42-4.11s it'll have a bit more get up & go, just depends on how much you want to spend on gas every day. You'll be surprised what different gearing can do for a car.

2.14? what was it... a Diesel? Even the easy to find 3.23's would really wake the car up.

I live in Holyoke which is one town over and we have plenty of litter in some areas. I've seen women throw kids' diapers out the window. Hell, every once in a while they throw the kid out as well. Yep, we're liberal. Plenty of welfare for everyone. We lead the state in teen pregnancies, STD's and heroin use, not to mention the lowest high school graduation rates. Yet less than 90 years ago Holyoke had the most millionaires per capita than any other city in America. Not bad for 90 years work eh?

Oh oh oh, I know all too well exactly what you mean. Those diapers end up in my f'ing yard half the time! There's nothing like living in a 120+ year old, beautiful Victorian house, with a bunch of section 8 cockroaches with no jobs living in a once nice apartment building right next to me. So glad the lease is up at the end of July.
