You need a square bore to spread bore. The carb you're putting on is square bore and the stock intake is spread bore. You'll also probably need to cut the line and run a short section of rubber hose with a filter off the hardline. The connection to that carb is different from the Q-Jet, and it doesn't have a built-in filter.

hoping to get the carb on next week. did my timing and my car can burnout now and its quick like it should be not slow and sluggish. timing was about 14 degrees off.

my exhaust is new cat-back with the thrush on there.

did an oil change and threw some lucas engine stabilizer in.

i think i am going to put some lucas in the transmission so itll shift nicer and handle the recent boost in hp

actually its not really that hard to start i mean i have to pump the gas everytime i want to start it because my buddy and i found that the accelerator pump is dead.

i also blocked off all the emissions tubing and stuff and it really isn't as hard as some say it is i just got some 1/4" brass plugs to seal off the manifolds, then got rid of the air pump and all the tubing and blocked off unused vacuum lines. it looks a lot cleaner now so maybe i can do my right hand valve cover gasket some time soon.

did the valve cover gasket today and didnt block off the pcv but it went smoother than the left side and hopefully i can do my front pads and rotors soon along with shocks on all 4 corners and start trying to find a trunk lid and some doors

due to some engine knocking and starvation of fuel i changed my fuel pump today. then did my brake pads. after i start it up for a test drive i hear a massive squealing and its my water pump bearing deciding it want to be changed too. so plans for tomorrow replace water pump and antifreeze.

so replacing my water pump did nothing for me and my motor still knocks but i borrow a stethoscope and figured out its a low end knock so i am just going to save up for a new engine. but i found a rust-free trunk lid and passenger door for $150 even though i need both doors one is good

Is there really any benefit to removing all of the emissions stuff?
