See how at the bottom of the spring in the picture, the coil is almost touching? That's the side that goes on top.

My old hard drive crashed on me! Luckily I had a backup cloned a ready to go. Back in biz....Sweet!! Thanks again for the info bruh!! Thats what I love about the site. You guys all chime in to help the newbs out. Thats love....What I learn from you vets I pass on to all my dogs tryin to learn like I am...Well the spring is upside down. Im gonna take it out and correct it. BUT! always a big butt in there! LOL! The lca ball joint will not pop. I shocked it with my big hammer. Im trying not to use the pickle fork cuz it will damage the boot. I soaked it with some wd40 and Im gonna hit it again. Should have it out and back in within the next hour. Thanks again for all the help bruh. The old girl should ride like a queen with all thats been done. (I hope!! LOL!)

Success! 😀 BFM wins everytime. LOL! Got the spindle separated without damaging the ball joint boot. Got the spring out and yep! It was upside down. Corrected it, compressed it and got it back in. Cool. I loosened the lca's up a bit and put the wheels back on. Dropped her on her own weight on she sat perfect. Bounce the front and it dropped just a tad. Sits 26" on both sides (measured from ground to chrome strip on the wheel well) Imma let her sit all night and then jack her back up and tighten everything up. Bleed the brakes and then hit the alignment spot.

Nice I bleeded my brakes this past weekend...i started witht the right side and it bleed good...brake fluid came out the needle fine...but the passanger side no brake fluid came out???? But the brake feel better than before i did the hole convertion...is it normal for the passanger side brake fluid to not come out when i tried to bleed them>>?>just worried...my bro in law is a mechanic and he came over xmas even and he pumped on the brakes and said that it sounds and feels GOOD!!...i havent tested drived it yet...but i hope it all works well...

If the rubber cap was missing, the bleeders often get plugged with dirt and grime.
Remove the bleeder and make sure the passages are totally clear, and try again...

OK, yeah I took out the bleeder and nothing came out...i did change the brake lines , but installed them correctly...nice at tight with no leaks....But like I mentioned, the brakes seem to be fine when steeping on them..i will put shoes back on it this weekend and test the brakes...

Yessir!! This happened on my SS. Same side. I removed the bleeder and cleaned it up. With it out, I pumped and pump until I gom fresh brake fluid coming out. Then installed the bleeder and bled the brakes to make sure fluid would come out. Worked out ssweet. I did have to pump the brakes for a lil while. I was missing the boot like Blake said. Maybe it was like that for a while causing air to get in the line? But I didnt feel comfy about it and just kept pumping. The pedal felt good, but I wanted to see some fluid coming out....

Warren, you rolling your el camino yet? how does it ride.

I got the old girl on the road(well around my block) yesterday. MAN!! What a Huuuuge difference. I still need to do a final tightening of the lca's and then off to the alignment shop. It has to get done tomorrow cuz my tags and smog are due this Friday. I'll drop the rear springs in this weekend if I dont go to Arizona. The front sits nice and even. I think right at 26" measured from the ground to the top of the wheel well. I'm on my stock 14" wheels right now..

I just snapped these right quick before heading to work...

Imma start working on the 7.5 rear rebuild next. After I get all the parts together (Eaton posi, Moeser axles, fluid, ect...) I'll get on that project. I'll install my new trailing arms and bushing's then. I'll do the new rear springs maybe this Friday or sometime during the weekend. Oh boy!! Lookin to drop a new 350 in next month. That's why Ive been on this suspension rebuild so tough. Thats how all my builds are gonna be from now on. Suspension first, then everything else. The Malibu will be up next  Happy New year to all you cats if I miss you on the forum later...

Aight kool, thanks family, im going to take out the bleeder this weekend and just PUMP away!!!!! I dont feel comfortable until brake fluid comes out that b*tch!!!...lol thanks Warren...Sweet job bro!!!!

Ok. I was driving the El today to go and get my smog done. About 5 miles into the trip I hear a little squeeking coming from the front driver side. Pull over to check it out. First thing I noticed is that the rotor dust cover/cap had popped off during the short drive. I felt around the area and it was pretty hot. It looks like the wheel bearing may be bad or maybe it didnt seat correctly. I drove back home and I will check it out when I get off. I was wondering if the tierod on the driver side was waaaay out of adjustment if that would cause some binding(?) I measured the and matched both new rods to the old set. They might be off within a few threads. The car pulls straight. No shimmy or shaking. Hmmm....Well Im gonna get a new set of wheel bearings and start there. I gotta get up around the corner to get the old girl smogged and registered..

Ill keep you guys updated...

I have faith in you...keep up the good work, im pretty sure its something small.!!!
