She still needs a front end alignment, and Im debating on if I should drop in the rear upper/lower trailing arms and new springs. I also picked up 3 HID kits, and 2 sets of conversion lenses from 87lswithanLS. Nice and clean. Thats what Im about to work on right now..

The last hid setup is for the lower airdam openings. I had just about completed another foglight setup for the airdamn, and was turned on to fitting a set of H-7 HID bulbs in the housings. Should work out sweet. I'll have to cut the front lens off and reglue it onto the housings on my SS. The lenses used on the Elco fog project are new, but were cut up to fit the other bulbs. The SS will get the same treatment but with brand new turn signal housings. Here's a pic of the old way I was doin it. You'll see why I cant use the housings for the H-7 bulbs. There's nothing left to hold the bulb in place...

Well Im rolling already, got my smog with my bro in laws homie, and got tags...been cruzin for a week know and man, im loving it...the looks and the chicks!!!
Me and Pollo we were going to be hitting corners today down in Huntington Park area on Long Beach Blvd, But he Distrubutor went out on him and he cant get it to run, so he canceled...Maybe next time Pollo, Maybe you can come down one weekend and have a bar b que and roll with us too Warren...Nice job on the Headlights....

If those springs are gonna be lowering springs or if they will alter the ride height, i'd get them put in before the alignment gets done. If not it will mess with you caster.

H7 bulb, 8000k, 35 watt ballast, hot glue gun and run it off a fused toggle. I just now rigged the fog switch from the other foglights I was gonna use. Worked out sweet. It has a 15 amp fuse on it and a pushbutton switch for inside the cabin. Soft red light for "off" and green for on.
I'll get some pics up soon. Got everything ready to go. Im having probs with the H-1 housings. The y are not seating down in the buckets correctly. No prob with the rear of the housing, or rubber boot hitting. Its the little feet on the back of the H-1 housings. They are angled differently and sit outward a tad more than the stock sealed beam housings. Imma hit the bone yard up and find 4 buckets and mod em. My other H-4 conversion lenses fit perfectly in the SS and Elco. I tried the H-1's in the El, the SS and a homies El. No luck. I love the look of the H-1 housings. I'll get em to work. A lil mod work and I'll have em in. I picked up a Painless wiring kit that runs the power to the ballast off the battery. It also allows me to run all four hid lights when the Highbeams are on... Gettin the "smog" done today. :wink:

Got her smogged yesterday. Hit the 60 freeway after a little around town driving. After checking everything out, I got her up to around 85 mph. No shakes or wobbles like before. Nice and smooth. Been a lil under the weather but now I'm just about 100%. Getting the front end wheel alignment done today. I had planned on installing the rear upper/lower trailing arms and new stock springs over the weekend, but caught a bad cold. Kids are comin over this weekend so no car stuff. I'll get on it soon tho. Been driving my girls VW so long I just wanna enjoy the El for a lil bit before tearing into it again 😀

Here's the SS' setup. I wanted to be able to run Hi and lo beam hids, so I added a painless highbeam wiring setup. With HID's, there's no 3rd wire running back to the low beam ballast to power it up for high beams. This kit uses a fused relay, runs from the battery (+) and it taps into the factory wiring. Color coded and the wires are marked,. Simple.. The SS has 50 watt ballast, H4 bulbs in 6000k. Pure white output. It will look clean againgts the Corvette Silver I'm painting the SS in. The El has 8000k bulbs. It will have a hint of blue. Just gotta aim the buckets on the S and I'm good to go..
