I probably came back a little rough, the salvage yards here in Eastern NC are full of 300's and the way this one ran it was headed there even though the body was perfect, I just thought I would revive one. The newer Nissan engines are not easy to find here and the Chevy parts are knee deep. I'd hate to see what some folks would think of the 1901 Olds replica that I built in 2011. The original had 5 HP and mine has 20. Almost makes it a hot rod.

I like it! Personally I would have gone LS because they are so popular and quite a bit better than iron headed SBC's but im not complaining. Darn near cheaper than SBC stuff too. Turbo and a 5.3 in one would be sick. Theres videos of a 4.8 turboed 280Z that runs 9's for not very much.

I know a Z31 pretty good in town that runs solid 12's with the turbo 3.0 but its spits transmissions out what seems like daily. It almost looks exactly the same as the one pictured but with different rims. Same color and T tops. He has mentioned that it almost isnt fun anymore since it's not super driveable.

Nothing is susceptible to SBC swaps, especially LS swaps in modern days.

As for the chevy in a nissan, well if you have the means and the desire, then have at er, you did a great job 😀

I like v8s and all that but they have no place in japanes cars. I wanna know why you chose to put a v8 in a japanse car? Nissan makes amazing motors you could of easily dropped in with little to no mods like the rb26 or sr20.You could have even put the twin turbo v6 from the newer 300zx's. My main question is why buy a japanise car if you plan to put a v8 in it when you could have bought a camaro and let some one who really loves those cars own it and put a nissan motor in it?

I may come off as a bit rude so sorry but I'm sick of seeing v8's jammed in everything.

Japanese cars with V8's have a long history.
Leaving trucks out of this
The following Japanese cars had V8 engines in them:

Toyota
Japan Market
Toyota Century(Toyota's Japanese market flagship model)
Toyota Crown Majesta
Toyota Crown (2008 to present) (has an option for a 4.6l Bi-turbo V8)
Toyota Celsior(this car was called Lexus LS in the USA)

Toyota
USA market

Lexus LS(still has a V8 to this day)
Lexus GS (had a V8 option till 2011)

Nissan:
Infiniti Q45
Nissan Leopard
Nissan Cima(called Infiniti Q45 in the USA)
Nissan President(limo)
Infinit M45 and M56

I like the look of that V8 Z Car and have seen a lot of SBC Jag conversions but I have not seen a Z car conversion before. I think it looks very tasteful and very well done(I think there is more room to work under the hood now with the SBC then the original Nissan engine that was in that car

Just finished. It drives great but was a PITA. I had to build everything. Motor mounts, transmission X member, Exhaust, drive shaft, even the brackets to use the nissan PS pump on the Chevy engine. :blam:

I like it.
Are the Nissan gauges working good or did you have to swap them out? Did they have the digital gauges?

I should have been more specific with the V8 comment. American V8's have no place in imports. I've seen lexus V8's in ae86's and don't dislike it. It's a little much for a little car but it's still toyota in toyota. Ls and SBC are the lazy way out IMO. if you there was a Nissan V8 I wouldn't mind it because it'd be more original and atleast show comitment to the brand. I just don't see the point in swapping in a motor form a different company unless there is a good reason or it's origional

I used Nissan senders and found Metric to NPT adapters. I had to use an electronic Dakota Digital speedometer signal interface to calibrate that. I brought the speedo cable from the turbo 350 up under the hood and adapted the Nissan Speedo sender to that but it was WAY off. It has the standard dash but I have a digital dash that I plan to install. I will not dignify the other response with a reply. It is my car and I built it the way I wanted to.

I like it.

I like it. You saved a good car from the crusher and doing something with it and using ingenuity to implement. Keep after it

On a side note, a guy at work took a Porsche 944 and stuck a 350 in it. The looks he gets are priceless when he steps on it. Not only that, it puts other Porsches to shame when it blows their doors off.

Make it your own and enjoy it!!!
