9" rear for my G-Body

The one thing(well not just one) I hate about the G-body is that a "real" rear end is big bucks. Have you considered the Strange S60? I've been looking at it after spec'ing out a 9" full floater.
No I have not. Where are you looking?😎

We ran these Winters rear ends in our pro late model cars, the gears are relatively cheap and easy to change with only have to remove the rear plate. The housing bolts on each side lets you mount ears for the uppers and you can bolt on brackets for the lowers and shocks.

Don't forget the 9" does suck up some hp and it's heavy. My friend has a low 9 second GN with the stock 8.5. They have put thousands of runs on that rear. They broke the teeth on the ring gear last year from tire shake. That's it. Heavier axles and c clip elims. 275 60 MT drag radials.

I built a 9" pretty much from scratch for my car, when I had 10% above warehouse distributor price on parts, and it still cost me about 1200 bucks. Cut to fits, pig I had, used gear, wilwood dual piston metric calipers. Not much different than anything the other companies offer. Biggest benefit is being able to set up the gear on a bench and not under a damn car.

If I was doing it all over again Id find the Lincoln 8.8 with the gears I want and go from there. Changing pigs is simple but Its a pain (at least when youre used to full floater 9" and quick change stuff like me. Pull the wheels, calipers, unbolt the housing ends, then do it all again, too much f'in around for me but Ive got it so Ill use it, maybe its for sale....?

Now the quick change I'm redoing... cambered bolt on snouts, mag housing built right here in Grand Rapids Mi, aluminum tubes, bolt on trailing arm mounts, tube braces, radial calipers, aluminum hubs, aluminum detroit locker, 13" full floating 1-3/8th cup rotors out of RCRs shop, thats a unit.

565BBChevy mentioned DTS, I need to give them a call, I dont have the tools to set it up. They're halfway between work and home

Edit to mention, if I was you, Id keep the 8.5 unless you find a good deal on a 9" or the 8.5 needs gone all the way through (arent bearings hard to come by?) That being said the 8.5 would pay for alot of a 9"
