Saying its not my style, is a respectable opinion, saying its a useless piece of sh*t, is flaming. Opinions are just opinions, voicing them doesn't make you a tool, flaming somebody makes you a banana licker. Speaking out on what you think is ghetto, well, that shows your narrow mindedness and upbringing. Everybody is right in their own mind. Yes I did post it here for opinions, duh, and yes, I did expect it to be flamed by some. I know everybody has their own ideal car, or what one should be, is a $200,000 pro touring camaro a useless car if its only street driven once a month, I mean its built using high end suspension components and all high dollar driveline parts that will probably never see their full potential, and even most of these cars are built with tv/dvd combos in the centerconsole.
And for the guy who was at Autorama, they placed us in the Wagon Class, and no, I didn't expect us to win, there were some really really nice wagons down there. But it was a pleasant suprise to win. The car was basicly built to show how extreme you could go with a G-Body. I restored cars before, but wheres the creativitiy with that? I've owned and got board with a 69 Chevelle SS 396, 70 Mustang Boss 302, both FULLY restored to stock by the way, and a 96 Corvette Collectors Edition. I"m a GM guy to the core, but I get tired of seeing the same cars built the same way everywhere I go.
We are no Boyd or Foose by any means, and to be honest, don't try to be. That niche market has been pretty well covered by quite a few builders, although last year my partner got a chance to talk with some of the guys from Foose's build team, and actually showed pics while we were building, the guys loved it, and not in a scarcastic, "yeah....it looks....goood" way.
Lastly, it kills me how everyone lately acts like they're pioneering G-Bodies being muscle cars and people in the "ghetto" are doing nothing but ****ing them up. G--Bodies have been a "ghetto" staple for years, I"m 29, and as far back as I can remember, thats all everybody had in Detroit. It was an affordable RWD car that looked good with just rims. Over the past few years, it has amazed me at the intrest in these cars, actually kind of bums me out because most of the ones I want the most have become priced out of my price range(have you seen what a mint SS or G/N goes for these days??!?!). I'm not mad at your opinions, but there is a fine line between voicing your opinion, and just being a compete *ss.
