a good state to live in?

The Tampa Bay area has wonderful junkyards with plenty of 80's cars in them and low prices. There is a car culture with several cruise nights, a soon to be closed drag strip and a decent street racing culture (if you know where to go and are into that sort of thing). Jobs right now are the issue though, as Florida has fairly high unemployment right now due to the death of the tourist industry and the crash of the real estate market. Then again, you can buy a house in a decent neighborhood for $50k right now, and even some canal front houses are going for $150k.

inebriated!!!! it's the only state to be in.

There is no car emission testing on cars older than either 1995 or 1996. Anything newer does it all by computer. So if your emissions are off, usually the check engine light will come on and you will fail.

Massachusetts is okay but not the greatest. It is June now and still cold, in the 60's. The city's near me are violent and a lot of punks and wanabee gangs but they will shoot and kill.. Nothing to do in this state unless you count the beaches or Six Flags during the summer. During the winter, ski resorts or plowing snow are the only 2 things to do.

I give Mass. a big F and say, stay away. Go to Florida or Texas.

Usually snows once or twice in the winter but doesn't stay long. Winters are kinda rainy but not real cold.

Uh this is only true on the west side of the state. Out here on the east side I have lived in areas where winter temps were colder than Alaska at the same time (-30 F) and had snow from October to June. Also quite a bit less green out on this side of the state. Seems like those on the west side always forget there is an Oregon past hood river and Bend.

You got me. That's why I plan to move to your side of the mountains. Seems like a whole different world...in a good way. I grew up around the Portland area and spent about 5 years in the Pendleton/Milton Freewater/Walla Walla area. Now I'm back on the west side. I'd never leave if I could just get everyone else to move away. :?

Yeah I was born and raised out on that side of the state lived most of my life in Portland and Beaverton. Beautiful area though getting to be to many people for my tastes. Though once I'm out of college (attending EOU) the girl friend and I are talking about moving out there again, though to one of the smaller towns up to an hour from Portland.

Nice thing about getting out here though is I got my Olds (for free) and just found out tonight the springs in the trunk are some old racing springs. 8)

If you get out here let me know and maybe we can work on the cars a bit and the like. There seem to be a few decent G/A body cars out here in La Grande. I think it had to do with all the old stock car racers selling off their stock piles after they closed all the tracks.

I'll let you know if I get over that way.
