hey every we are doing the alignment on my car and I ran into a camber issue. The specs on my car are rebuild lowers with oem moog ball joints and gbody parts tubular uppers with oem ball joint. Stock spindle. My question is we want it at -3/4 but can't get it there with out shims out the wazoo so would putting taller upper and lower ball joints get us close enough to put camber setting? With not so much shims we are at -2.5

with everything stock your uppers are too long to have a negative camber. Plus with the upper sitting below the horizon a negative camber setting will not help with a camber gain in a corner. The tire will start from negative and go the positive camber before going back the negative when in compresssion

We are trying to get it to stock spec we have -2.5 camber and adding a lot of shims I mean like almost an inch to half inch of shims I feel like something is wrong either the arm is on your or the arms are reversed

stock spec is + 3/4 degree I think. The more shims you add the more negative camber you will have. I have mine at negative 3/4 degrees

What is this distance on the arms? Usually places like speedway/ub/allstar offer 8-1/2 or 9-1/2.

If you have the 9-1/2 thats an easy fix. Too many shims will get you into the header/manifold like Im sure you are seeing. A shorter arm will help you gain camber quicker on compression as well.

Note: this is obviously not a bolt in ball joint control arm, but the measurement is the same on what you have.

the upper came from UMI so it would be the stock 8". You would never get a 9 1/2 to fit unless you wanted lots of positive camber

Oh I didnt see that they were UMIs I thought he just had some of the speedway style arms, and that there might be a chance he had long ones and could switch to short ones.

Looks like they just re box UBs measure them up if you can
