Alternator upgrade

I have one from SVA on my race car and will never go back to a parts store type rebuild.

I was tired of the battery charger shuffle between rounds.

They are not the cheapest but I can load the race car with, 2 fans, electric fuel pump, Crane ign, line lock, trans brake, lights on (fulling running light, full dash light and highbeams) and the volt gauge stay rock steady.

Ray builds them for max output at low RPM, mine puts out a 100 amps at idle!

In what direction does the alternator on the 307 rotate?

Clockwise, same as the engine.

I just bought a cs144 series 140 amp for mine. Used 95 Roadmaster as the application. I bought a used one from the boneyard for a core, I wanted a reman so it's fresh looking. The reman cost me $95 at O'Reilly's. I was able to get the electrical adaptor through Napa. Part #EC82. Just swap your old pulley, plug it in, and go.

Also note, with serpentine belt setups, only the smooth pulleys turn opposite of engine rotation. Any accessory with a ribbed pulley turns the same as the engine. Most, if not all, domestic V8's run clockwise at the crank.

That's exactly what the alt I plan to swap came off of was just making sure they have the same rotation thanks

Other then the harness, and pully is there any other mods to bolt the alternator in? I would love to upgrade mine to.

to pull a pully i think you need an air gun. thats just me tho. i had to use one when i got my alt for my elky. i just held the pully and used the gun to loosen the nut. same way to put it back on.

ampage for stock

what is the stock alternator on 307 how many amps? i looked on summit an i think i want to switch to 120amp shouldnt need more then 120 i would think..

How would I go about completing the installation without the use of EC82 adapter?

know I'm probably going about it the hard way, but just picked up the plug that plugs into back the alternator but how do I go about connecting the wires? the new plug has 3 wires the old only has two.
