I really want to know if a Vortec 4200 I6 could be put into my Cutlass. I love inline 6 engines and think it would be cool to have one in a G-body. Or do a Grand National style 3.8 only instead of a turbo build do a centrifugal supercharged build.
I don't believe I've ever heard of one in a g body. There was a 4200 in a Nova wagon that competed in Drag Week a few years back.I really want to know if a Vortec 4200 I6 could be put into my Cutlass. Be sure to document your build, I'm slowly collecting parts for a 3800 swap myself.I'm just starting a 3800 Series II and 4L60E swap out of an 02 Firebird. Doesn't appear to be easy by any means, but should double the HP from 110 to 220. I'm doing it for injection and overdrive reasons.

The Trailblazer guys don't speak too highly of the 4200. The upside would be that, on a turbo build, the hot side might be as simple as flipping the exh manifold and mounting the turbo at the collector.

I have a 83 cutlass with 1973 buick 350 I'm trying to figure out what motor mounts to use can you point me in the right directionI've got a 350 Buick in my Regal. Not too out there in the realm of odd g body engines, but you certainly hardly ever see one. It's as easy as a 305 to a 350 chevy.
Yep, use 3.8 frame mounts and 3.8 rubber mounts. May need to clearance the heater box, kinda varies from car to car, body bushing sag and what not. Look up Blake442's 3.8/th200 to 350/350 thread.I have a 83 cutlass with 1973 buick 350 I'm trying to figure out what motor mounts to use can you point me in the right direction
