Anyone ever get into racing?

Hey everyone! I've always had a passion for racing and ive wanted to do it all my life! When now that i have funds to actually purchase a car i was thinking of doing it. Thing is i dont have a clue on how to get started . Series i want to run would be the Mini Stock Series. Ive seen some on kijiji for around 700$ up to 4000. Just wondering if anyone has actually raced in one of these series and how did they get started? Thanks!

RULES SPECIFIC TO MINI-STOCK SERIES
  1. Rear wheel drive cars MUST be stock Chevette bodies only, 2 or 4 doors permitted.
  2. Front wheel drive cars must be 4 cylinder engine vehicles.
  3. Track reserves the right to disallow any body style or to allow any other configuration.

I don't think you will get much info here for 4 cyl. cars
