I'm going to bump thus back up from way back when because I can and I'm looking at tires again. What are guys running for fronts with the 275/60/15 out back? I have 4 215/65/15 right now. The sidewalk throws,me off to be honest. Will the 65 be taller than the 60?

OK, Here's your math...

215/65/15

215mm = 8.4" wide (fine for an 8" rim)
65 = 65% of the 215mm tall = 139mm = 5.5" tall (that 5.5" is on both ends of the rim, ie 12 oclock and 6 oclock possition) for a total of 11" of rubber.
15 is your rim diameter, add 15" + 11", that's 25" of total tire and rim height.

A 215/60/15 would be a shorter tire because it's only 60% as tall as it is wide. Post the math for practice.

Oh ok. I notch. The 215/65/15 is a 26" tall tire and the 275/60/15 is a 28" tall tire. So that shouldn't look too bad. And I'm pretty sure they will fit the rear. Looking for a cheap used 275/60/15 local to do a mock fit to check before I buy. My main concern is I'm am on my stock front springs currently. I scrub at lock or just before with the 215/65/15 on factory 15x7 vette rally wheels. Will this tire fit on w/ the front having the hotchkis lowering spring kit I'm soon to install?

I can't answer the question on the lowering spring but I can offer advice. How much drop do those springs have? If I'm close it should be around 2" right? Why don't you either add weight to the bumper, use a strap to pull it down or get creative and get the ride height down 2" from where it's at now. Start the engine and turn your tires left and right. Is there rubbing? If not drop/pull/weight the front down the front end another 2" or so to emulate bumps and such on the road. Do the same test by turning the tires left and right. Do they rub? If not I'd say your going to be GTG. If you in the NC area near Ft. Bragg I'd be more than willing to have you over my shop for a day to test out different combos.

I gotcha. I'm in Newport news va. A quite a ways away. I scrub a lol now in the front so I'm guessing it will remain the same if not worse. So I'm guessing its a smaller tire or a diff backspacing. Key here is I love the vette rally wheels
