I really don't want to put my opinion out there on this but with all the threads full of negative B.S. on LS/Chevy/whatever ICE moves you ride but I'm going there.
First, GM engine is a GM engine in this day plus rolling back to over 30 years back. Unless it's roots are from the original engine & interchanges with it then it's that engine, SBC/BBC/"W" blocks are Chevy's. Buick Nailheads, late V8's & V6 (which has Jeep/AMC linage) are Buicks. Olds gas & diesel engines are Olds. And so on. LS's are GM which was ment to replace the final thin lines of division V8's.
Second, why in the flying f*ck someone gets so hurt over likes/dislikes of their choice of power? Get over it. It's like the damn Star Wars/Star Trek fights with scifi guys. It doesn't matter what in the hell makes those tires spin, pick what you like & build it. I personnally don't care what is under the hood, if someone has the skills & knowledge to make it run how you want it to respect it. It's getting old reading pissing contest on my engine is better & you have to like me & the engine or I'm going to trash you everywhere on the fourm. Just like the ownership of this generation of GM cars, it's a choice on what you're going to put under the hood. Go to FarceBook to spread the hate this hobby don't need. Butt hurt happens, get over it.
Third, our hobby isn't as big & strong as it was. If there is anything to help inject some more life into the hobby is great. Being gas, diesel, alternate fuels, or even (which is going to be here sooner than we may think or like) electric, its all in the form of expression. Hot rodding has been around since the first horseless carriage got rolling on those dirt roads & has been something that has helped & borrowed from the auto industry since. With what we have out there for options should allow one to find their niche & share it with those like themselvies. Even share it with other niches in the hobby to maybe share ideas as most of us do here. Remember hot rodding is a free form hobby that allows everyone be different & be part of a group at the same time.
Now this may not make things better or reveal the location of Jimmy Hoffa's body but puts my opinion out there to be grilled. Just remeber 1, GM engine, 2, who cares, 3, it's hot rodding & lets try to keep it going with what you like for as long as we can. Somewhat on topic & somewhat off topic.
