With the new Monte I dug out my BIG 6 ton jack stands made by Duralast, Autozones name brand.

I used them for the Malibu.

They where great and lifted the car 2 feet off the ground.

Well when I got them out they were rusted rotted and in no way could be used.

So about a month ago I wrote Autozone a letter explaining what happened and how I was disappointed.

Asking them if there was a warranty on them being Duralast tools have a lifetime warranty.

They got back to me the next day and we played email tag back and forth requesting and providing info.

Then they said "We have what we need. You will not hear back from us until we come to a resolution"

So last night I email them say Hey it's been a month any updates on my issue?

I get an email back within 20 min saying they are sorry for the delay and forwarded the emails to upper management.

Five min later I get an email from upper management with a phone number saying please call me at your earliest convenience.

This morning I call the number and speak with a supervisor about the issue.

He asks when can I be at my local Autozone and I tell him 2PM today after work.

He says OK great.

So I show up and BOOOOOOOOOOOM these are waiting for me.

I know Thunderball had an issue recently with California Car Covers and there service.

But Autozone did the right thing.

I guess they will be my go to store for parts from now on.
Where were you storing them? In New York Harbor?

Its nice to see some folks get help at autozone...I will not go in one here...my cousin bought an iac sensor for his 250 round lumina with a 3.1... he called me for help...I bring my scanner...says the IAC is DOA...brand new...zero work...none...tell him put the original back in...he complains its bad...put it in anyway...car starts and drives if not smoothly...car was dead before...tell him get a bwd or bosch...he b*tches its $56 for a bwd or bosch $125 for oem...I said fine put the $29 autozone back in and use the lumina for a planter...
A buddy with a chrysler mini van does a full tune up and adds a new coil to be sure all is ok...goes to the zone...calls me asks for help...I go over pop the hood he starts the van and the coil is shooting an arc like a welder from the coil tip to the adjacent fender well...shuts it down...I pop the cap...the coil smoked the new cap, rotor, wire set, and polepiece...I pull the coil...says right on it " for use on system without ballast resistor"..of corse I point to the ballast resistor...he says I told them that at autozone...go back and the counter guy says " its the only one in the computer". I respond the computer is wrong...show him the old coil...he says they have noone to call in such a case...did $212 in damage and towing...manager says they'll take car of him...six months frustration...he gets bupkiss...nada...nix...nichiwo...nyet...zero...then he goes back a year later and buys a cv boot kit...can't get it on...calls me...measure the shaft...boot too small...same story...only one listed...more stories but i wont...I just dont go there anymore...

Glad it worked out for you. Wonder how they rusted out that bad? The Autozone by me is awful, they don't even wait on customers. They walk into the back and hide so you can't even checkout. Customers just drop merchandise and walk out.

Its awesome that a big chain did customer service on that level dispite it was from someone higher on the food chain than at store level. The best parts stores are the ones with old timers. The even better ones have old stock that is older than the old timers who knows what that stuff fits.

Where I am, it's a sh*t show in all areas. I remember once I went to Oreilly's trying to get some JB weld to repair my timing cover on my Buick 350 (big ol aluminum thing) and I made the mistake of engaging in conversation with the manager guy. I told him what I was using it for (second mistake) and he kept on for 10 minutes trying to sell me a chevy timing cover. One of the shitty chrome ones too boot. Advance is ok, employees are lazy. I went there looking for a lower rad hose at Advance for my old thunderbird (had two 90 bends 90 away from eachother, weird lookin thing) and he REFUSED to go back there and check the wall of hoses to see if they had one that matched the old one. I got mad and left. No other stores had any idea what I was talking about (kept trying to sell me those shitty flex hoses) so I went back to advance and just changed the car from 1970 thunderbird with a 429 to a 1970 galaxie with a 429. Surprise surprise they had the hose hanging on the wall, found it in 10 seconds. Autozone my dad and I were waiting in line for 13 minutes trying to get a flare tool while the guy was helping the people in front of us. We get to the front, and just as we're about to an old geezer walks in (drove up in a newer BMW, Audi, some foreign job) with his wife to the end of the counter. He then walks right past us and ends up helping them and others who are just coming in. We get pissed drop the tool on the counter and leave. Also the time before that me and my buddy walked there from my house (1 mile round trip) to get a battery for my Regal. The ONLY guy in the store was this angry tweaker screaming he hates this place, the job, and the coworkers. He was nice to us and it was kind of funny. I VASTLY prefer to do shopping online when it comes to car parts. I've always used summit, TA, or eBay. If I can't return it, I usually either keep it or sell it to a buddy. At least at the Oreilly's near me, most of the kids working there have modded cars, even if they are little econoboxes, they do have some decent mods. Everywhere else is a gamble whether or not you'll come out more angry than you were when you went in. The NAPAs near me have been alright, don't use em much.

Napas are hit and miss like all the others. They're a franchise so a lot depends on who owns the store. The last shop I worked for was a Napa Care Center. We were their big fish customer so they kind of kissed our asses. We had 3 sales reps while I worked there. 2 were great and went above and beyond with warranty stuff, the other one loved to deny claims. The counter guys at our home store were a mixed bag. You learn who is helpful and has the knowledge. The best part was the discounts. I was in town last weekend and bought 2 batteries using my old shop connection. Saved more than $90 over the tagged price.
The local Napa where I live now is a joke. I went in to get oil and a filter for my wife's Toyota. Asked the counter guy if they have Proselect line behind the counter. He looked puzzled then said yes. Told him I needed a 27047. He wouldn't go back and get me one until I gave him all the vehicle info so he could look it up. Now I drive to the next town over and shop at AutoZone.
