Sell the Buick to someone that wants to spend the money to rebuild it and use that money towards whatever you decide to run.

That's the way I'm thinking. $200 to whoever wants it. Honestly up to this point I didn't realize how affordable the LS swaps are. There are a ton of L33s and LQ9s in yards close to me. There's a few with 90-100k on them, and they are $1000-1500 complete with harness and computer. I really like the idea of having fuel injection.

Don't forget everything else you need to complete the swap (oil pan, mounts, paring down or replacing the harness, tuning, exhaust, front accy. drive?, etc.) I'm certainly not trying to talk you out of the LS engine, but I'm unconvinced a nice swap can be done for cheap.

Truck accesories will fit under the hood as long as I run a 105 amp alternator. The LS harness is basically a standalone harness to begin with, just a matter of eliminating the VATS and the extras. The harness and accessories are included in the $1500 price.

There will obviously be unforseen costs, but that is a given, I'll have that no matter what way I go.

Again, nothing here is set in stone, I'm just sorta thinking out loud.

Go for it. You've definately got the talent to pull it off. I don't think you'll be disappointed with an LS. They are terrific engines. I have a 5.3 with a Hot Cam in my 08 Sierra with 155k miles on it. It runs like new, doesn't leak, and doesn't use a drop of oil. We have a 6.0 with a Hot Cam in my brother's car backed by a T56 Magnum and it is a blast. It was a 20k mile pullout from a van that got crushed in the back. It's a blast but was an expensive swap.

A lot of this is going to depend on what I can find, too. If a nice SBC pops up for the right price, I'll go that way and not regret it.

You'd make the most $$$ on that 350 selling it on the V8 buick forum. Hell, if I lived in PA I'd just come up and take it off your hands.

The valves are already lapped and have new valve seals in the heads. I sandblasted the intake manifold and all the little brackets, everything is labeled, organized, marked and numbered. The crank doesn't even need polished. The cam bearings aren't bad either, you could probably do a flex-hone and reuse the cam bearings and have a decent stock DIY refresh. It's complete, air cleaner to pan, fan to flywheel. Comes with an alternator, starter, Saginaw PS pump, and 750 cfm Quadrajet.

Sure it's a 750? I think it's an 800. If there is a little bump in the primary bores then it's an 800.

With the right buyer you can probably get some good money for that set up.
