Barrett Jackson Sucks

There is really no reason at all the cars should cost anymore than what they cost back in the 60s or 70s. Why is that Dodge Daytona $900,000 when it was 4500 new? what's special about it? It's old? Pfft.

What kind of ghetto does the guy live in where $128K buys a house?
All depends where you live. Houses are super expensive in the coastal states or areas with a high concentration of hipsters. You can get a damn good 3 bedroom+ house where I live for under 225k. Most of them I've looked at (out of curiosity mainly) have at least a large 1 car or medium 2 car garage. And what, is 128k chump change to you? Ghetto houses in and around Des Moines are 75k and under.

Idk... Cars are too expensive, I can agree on that. Collectability and rarity is entirely subjective. To some people it means something, to others it doesn't matter. Apparently it doesn't matter to the writer.

Also Jalopnik was really cool when it first got started, but it seems to be in a downward spiral. Different versions of the same story being told over and over again.

"Why (insert fast car) are dumb"
"Why (insert boring slow car) is the greatest"
"Why (insert cheap car) is amazing"
"Why(insert expensive car) is terrible"

Those story lines make up 90% of Jalopnik articles.

Half serious. But really, besides the age and rarity, why is it, not to mention other cars, worth almost a million dollars? Just because something is rare doesn't mean it's automatically worth a million dollars. I'm going with essentially what Driven said, it is because two dudes decided it was.

That was David Spade, it was $1M and he has admitted he was drunk.

The guy whining about his dream car, a GNX, selling for $128K has obviously never heard of Craigslist or Turbobuick.com. You can buy a Turbo Regal for $15K, spend $25K on it and it will have ALL of the looks and twice the performance of the $128K GNX for "one third the price"... you just won't have the 1 to 547 Number on the dash.

If that 1 - 547 number plate is soooooo important to you, whining Internet guy, F'ing work harder!!!!

Yea I hear ya dude but that's basically it. If people pay it then it's worth it, as dumb as that seems. I will agree with you about cars being worth way too much but a Dodge Daytona is a bad example considering only 503 were made, they owned NASCAR(when that meant something), and they were just fast as holy fu#% for the era lol.

These posts come out everytime a Barrett Jackson auction takes place. Take a look at the "Similiar Threads" section at the bottom of the page and you will see my point lol.

A guy who thinks you can buy a house for $128K doesn't need to be daydreaming about buying GNX #003, he needs to put down his phone, pay attention in school, get good grades, get a mechanical engineering degree and reap the benefits that the US is currently giving to H1B visa holders who come from places with bad cell service and nothing to distract them from paying attention in school.
