I wanted to know what factory serpentine set ups for SBC fit the best in a Gbody, I want one that has the AC on the passenger side.
I would like to know what donor cars they are from and any possible installation issues you might have had.
Please post pictures of your set up installed and possibly of it before you pulled it from the donor car.

Late 80's S10 Blazer or S10 with the 4.3. It bolted right up. One of the top braces to the intake would not fit the Edlelbrock vortec intake.

Mines the same as the previous post but it came off a 92 1500 z71 with a 5.7

This will probably start a debate, but pay attention to the direction the fan blades and the blades in the water pump. They spin the opposite direction of traditional sbc. I just took fan off the truck and bought a new water pump for the truck. Some people say it don't matter, but the blades are pitched different. Look for yourself. Hope this helps

This serpentine setup is from a '91 TPI Z28, I suppose I could have made it work with the AC and the twins if I wasn't being a cheap-*ss.

I have a 1986 Cutty. Mine was donated from a 88 pontiac gta. Has been perfect for all my transformations. And yes, you will have to get a reverse rotation water pump/fan or electric fans. The ac compressor lines hooked right up to the donor compressor.

I would be buying a new reverse rotation water pump but I will be running electric fans.

Mine I purchased brand new GMPP Serpentine setup. Was factory on 92' Camaro.

Serpentine is where its at on any motor......the main reason I went with it was tired of throwing v-belts on my car and I saw some serious damage to a 65 Tempest belonging to a friend of mine......I scored all my components for $60 at a local junkyard off of a 89 V6 S-10 Blazer thats pulleys, pumps, a/c, and fan......sandblasted, etching primer, and painted.........heres how my application turned out.........my motor is a 72 400 sbc that is now a 406.....and the water pump was bought new from Autozone it was an extreme duty hi-flow type for a Blazer that had towing package was around $30-40........hasnt failed me yet with my 3 row radiator......

I don't have a SBC but run a serpentine setup from a '95 S-10 with a 4.3 on my 455. It fits great in my car so I can only imagine it would fit perfect if it was used on an engine it was actually designed for. 🙂
