Wife's 2004 Grand Cherokee is hitting the end of life. She stepped on the running board and it fell off. Rockers are just starting to rot.134,000 got lifter taps just not good enough for her and my daughter. We also wanted to buy a small 20 ft ski boat.

Toyota by far is what I wanted. The Jeep was the Limited , Leather ,sunroof every Bell and whistle. Which I'd like to keep them in.

Toyota Tacoma Limited is $41,000 ouch!
Nissan Frontier fully equipped is $36,000
Chevy Colorado Z71 was $38,900. No sunroof, get bent sales experience.

Not sure about going used. 5 years body rust sets in. Badly on the Silverado rocker cab corners. Ford the whole damn thing rusts out. Dodge my father has put the transmission shop owners kids through college.
Hate the process. But I do love Nissan's price/ power. Toyota the interior is Lexus like. All will pull 5k plus and have factory tow options. So what would you guys go for.

Btw my wife is 4'9" /105 lbs seeing her in a quad cab full size is hysterical. Her backing in a parking lot could be fatal.

I'm not a new vehicle fan, just too much electronics. I'd say the Colorado out of what you have listed.

Me, I like the 1st get S-Series, with either a SBC or a LSx. 🙂

Well we got the Jeep in 2006 so it made back what we paid. Plus it's slipping down to my daily driver. May have 33's in its future. I like the new Colorado but compared to the Asian brands seems a tad generic. If I get the Taco at least It partially guarantee to live until my one year old gets into highschool. Still see 80s Toyota trucks buzzing around. In the heart of rust country. Anyone have or own the Nissan? Has alot more power than the Taco?

How about one of them new-fangled beer can Ferds with the Eco-boost V6? Body won't rot, but just don't hit anybody until the market figures out how to rework aluminum. [Says he who wrenches on Chevys and paid $15K for a 99K 2002 7.3 F350 crew cab. My friends are still harassing me endlessly.]

92 Toyota pick up with that oh so indestructible 22r. Who says you have to dive something new to be relevant today.

Indestructible if Toyota honored the frame replacement recall. Lol loved that truck. 5 speed 4wd go dam near anywhere. Near only used for how much sheet metal damage your can take lol

Wife has 3 picked out for Monday 2012 Yukon denali 34,000 miles for $26750.

2015 4runner Sr5 demo 2,200 miles $30,900

Then a 2014 TRD Tacoma no info just traded in.

May go 4 runner no leather. They can add sunroof for 1200.00 plus enhanced bumper to bumper up to 100000 miles.

Shop out of state/region. Few rust issues here, or in TX,AZ, etc. IMO new is a "bent-over" experience no matter what you buy

C'mon man, it's not like aluminum panels are a new thing. Ford has used them forever it seems on stuff like Lincoln town cars, truck hoods, Exploder fenders, Lincoln LS fenders, and more.

GM uses them on SUV gates

Rovers have all kinds of aluminum panels on them.

Audi A8 is all aluminum as well.

A lot of the hype is being driven by the people unable/unwilling to learn new techniques to repair things.

F350 CC? That's my current driver....97 CCD PSD...324K....and I gave 2K for it about 4 years ago

Wow - be happy that fuel is temporarily under $2 a gallon....

For now, some research is required to find a competent aluminum metal smith not at the Audi dealer.

I wanted to keep the '88 V30, but more assembly was required than my wife was willing to wait for...

Apologies for 'jacking the thread...but, if you have something in mind that's older, some of us can keep an eye peeled for you.
