For just a 1" drop, tall lower ball joints.

Will improve handling and bumpsteer and have zero effect on ride/suspension travel. The only mod needed is to cut clearance in the brake dust shields.

An Fbody hollow front sway bar, Cutlass jounce bars, a pro touring style rear sway bar and if the car isn't rusty, replace the just the lower missing body bushings with actual bushings.

Keep in mind a tall lower ball joint will lower the ride height in the front by .5" You will have to make this up with spring shims or something if you want the car to sit level.

Tall ball joints don't always 100% fix bump steer issues. It can be a general rule of thumb when you lower a car it will help correct it but to actuaully correct it you probably need a bump steer kit.

Craig,

I had B-body spindles/12" brakes on my T-type and Tall lowers took nearly all of the bumpsteer out (a Howe adjustable center link took out all of the rest). B-body spindles have way worse bumpsteer than factory G spindles. Now my T and 2+2 have G spindles and tall lowers and they have no visible bumpsteer. They are lowered, which helps, but anyone who would worry about bumpsteer would also like to go fast and lower their car, anyway.

Sounds like it corners pretty awesome with the taller B-Body spindles and the tall lower ball joints that add that much more spindle height!

I didn't want to steer anybody the wrong direction with the bumpsteer -vs- tall lower ball joint comment. In most cases they do indeed improve bumpsteer.

When we purchased bumpsteer gauges awhile back we found out that the tall lower in our 72 LeMans threw some things off, now granted we were "splitting" hairs because this is basically a race car.

If you want to completely 100% eliminate bumpsteer, gauges are needed but this is generally only done on track cars.
