It aggravates the living sh*t out of me if the hangers in my closest aren't all facing the same direction!

Ok good, thought i was the only one. clothes need to face the same direction too! lol.

Brand favoritism aside... (I prefer to keep the same brand motor in the car, but I have a Chevy in one of my Oldsmobiles)

The original post asked for the easiest swap, and going from Buick V6, the easiest swap is the Buick 350. End of story.

We could debate this all day. Yes, SBC's are cheap and the aftermarket is huge. If I had a Chevy I'd drop a Chevy mill back in it. Otherwise don't be afraid to explore the rest of GM. I needed some "excitement" and went with Pontiac myself  Olds are great engines too. I wouldn't hesitate to go 403 or 455 if I had another Cutlass. A Buick 455 would be even better for the Regal. I had the Chevy blinders on in my early 20's and I'm glad I stepped outside of my comfort zone to experience other makes.

No doubt the BOP stuff costs more but the parts do exist.

I'm not anti-Chevy, but everyone and their brother automatically puts an SBC in anything. There's just nothing interesting about them anymore to me, therefore I encourage people to try something else.

In the end it's your budget, your car and your taste. Good luck on what you go with!
Right on the money! for me anyway!

Actually, his original post ask which engine would be the "best bang for the buck"

Go ahead and locate and purchase a DECENT Buick 350 and tell me it's cheaper than a Chevy 350 after complete intallation. Even if you keep the exhaust manifolds on the Buick you still have to run new exhaust, so that expense applies to both swaps. You can pick up a COMPLETE Chevy 350 for $400-500 and then $14 for the new frame mounts.

I also think its cool to have a Buick V8 in a GBody Regal. But it is definitely not the engine to go with if you are on a poor mans budget
