Bi+C# Thread for the nit-picky old men

Not for cars but it drives me ape sh*t when people stop at a yield sign with no traffic around.

Edited for grammatical corrections.

The lack of use of capital letters and periods. Is it really that difficult to hit the shift key at the start of a sentence? How about throw in a period every once in a while to keep the paragraph from turning into a stream of consciousness?

It's lazy and disrespectful to start a thread asking for help and then make it a chore to read. What makes me think a person is motivated enough to fix their car if they can't be bothered to press a few keys on their keyboard?

I had a guy come in and sit an olds water pump on the counter... I said "Oh you've got an olds motor?" He proceeded to tell me that he had a chevy 5.0 in his 80's model cadillac. He then told me how all GM products were made by Chevy, and how Chevy owns GM. :blam: A small back and forth ensued, and I respectfully told him he was incorrect. So I sold him a water pump for the Olds 307 that he had in his Cadillac, and the guy left happy.

So I hate people who think their Olds/Buick/Pontiac motors are Chevy motors! :x

I don't know why but when people refer to their engine as a "355", "360" or a "388 stroker" it bugs me. Why not say is a 350 bored .030.
I have a 565 Big Block Chevy, wait I mean a 454 bored .350 over with a stroker crank
Actually mine started it's life as a 555 and now it's .040 over.

It drives me up the wall when people say Ford owns Mazda. I get offended and say no it's a partnership just like dodge and alfa. then I simply tell them untill Ford puts out a rotary motor they need to do their research before making such comments.

Light Beer, why, just why? Ruins the aspect of enjoying a good beer.

Instead of 4-4-2, people like to say four forty two. Also with the new, off the showroom floor mustangs coming to shows but the worst part of that is they actually get a trophy at the show.
well....if you want to be technical.....the first 4-4-2's were called just that....four four two....but later on, after so few people called them that, GM changed the emblems and the name to match what most people refered to them as....442's ...or four forty two.....even though it still is hard for me to say it that way, I can understand why so many non olds fans say it that way.

What I love are those who say they used to have a cutlass with a 442 engine....and I say....which one? 455? 400? 350? 403? 307?....and they look at me funny....and say something smart like.....naw...it was an actual 442 engine....

Parts related rant: Gal calls up asking for parts, doesn't really know what she's asking for, the guy is yelling at her in the backgroung, telling her what to say. :wtf: Pick the damn phone up yourself and ask for what you want.

Tardiness, I work with people that show up late almost everyday, good thing they don't work for me, they wouldn't for long.

Light Beer, why, just why? Ruins the aspect of enjoying a good beer.

I love it when the old fart has his wife call the parts store.... I always say....Miss, can you hold on so I can go get my GF to talk to you while I shout the information to her from across the store? :wtf:

I have no sympathy for people who always complain they are broke, but as soon as they get paid, they buy junk to put on their car that does absolutely nothing to increase mileage or performance or ride.... :blam:

As for the beer, its a food for me....so I like it hearty and full bodied...

It kills me when people ask me if my Hurst has the 442 in it!!
