Flat top 454 bottom end from the RV.
RPM or similar intake
Closed chambered full size oval port 396 or L29 Vortec-7400 heads
270-280 duration cam
Car oil pan and pick up tube to fit the frame RV and truck pans do not. Need the car clam shells/motor cups....truck is different!
MOOG 5610 front end springs
Stall for the TH400 + shift kit
Hooker 2455 70-81 Camaro headers work with some dents or trimming the lower A-arm mounts
DER-PH057 early small tube headers that fit, slip right in with motor in place, have to trim driver side clam shell/motor cup

You said 9 inch
Brace the frame at the front of the lower control arms and in the torque box.
Add some lower half of the missing body bushings
Dual exhaust cross member

Nitrous???

Or...
Chinese aluminum heads angle milled to 100 or so cc
Keep the flat tops, same parts as above.....I have run many a 781 and 049, now they are not as easy to find....and the aluminum heads get cheaper and cheaper...

Or...

Thats right along the lines I was thinking If I go that way. I got a picture of the 454 and transmission yesterday. It doesnt have the drum brake on it which is good news. And it had 50k on it before he took it out of the rv. Id still pull it apart and ring and bearing it plus itll need a cam.
Thanks

We took a 94 454 from a 2500 truck. Added a Comp 270H cam, Performer intake, 750 carb, and -215 casting 396 heads. It thumps and drags an 83 C10 short wide around like a go cart.

If you wondered what one looks like:

Stock late 80s 454 from a wrecked motor home.

Here is how my 2455 headers fit

Sanderson shorty A-body header against the upper A-frame

A-body headers

I made a couple videos and posted em a while back on YouTube on Malibu headers.

Top to bottom:
#2455 Hooker 70-81 Camaro headers
Random used Chevelle (68-72?)
Black Jack headers, available on ebay/amazon now by Pro-Comp #DER-PH057 (1-5/8 tube I think)

Hooker 2455's are A body not F body headers. I believe 68-72. Those are what I originally ran and they fit pretty good. An easier install than my swap headers.

Looks like it belongs in there.

Wow, thanks for all the info! My 9in came in the mail a cpl days ago, I primed and painted it yesterday. Just picked up a third member from a friend who races a dirt track car with 3.70s. We will see how I like them. Thats one of the reasons I wanted a 9in...takes an hr for me to swap chunks and theres alot of them around here.. Heres the rearend:
