Just gonna throw this out there- if you can do a 3D scan of the physical object, rather than 3D printing them out of plastic, why not take the 3d scan file to a machine shop that has a CNC mill and just have a mold made of aluminum? Then you can cast them yourself out of whatever you want. Plastic, resin, whatever. I'm no expert, just throwing ideas around.

OK. Major update on this. SEMA Garage (the org’s R&D and engineering division) did a CAD scan of the originals I sent them, and made a set of 3D-printed copies.

I think I’m going to ask them to make me a couple of extra sets, as well as provide me with the data file so I can share it with other hobbyists and 3D printers.

As soon as I have the file, I will let you know, and will be happy to share it with any of you.

Damn, I cant see any pics.

As expected, some finish work required. Way to follow through! Maybe we can get OPGI to take the open source file and cast them in polystyrene. Put me down for 1 or two sets, depending upon the price.

Yeah. Will definitely need some finish work, but that was to be expected. I’m just excited that there will be some options now other than crossing your fingers and hoping you strike unicorn gold in a salvage yard!

Better patent them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So does this recessed area on the backside of the factory one that appears to not be present on your 3D version have any effect on fitment?

I don’t physically have the 3D copies in my possession yet. I’m sure some minor modification will be necessary to get a perfect fit. Will update as soon as I get them.

If the back is an issue just make the tabs a hair longer
