Don't waste your money on KYB's (Kill Your Back)

Cough Cough BELLTECH® LOL.
Two of these: BEL-8006
Two of those: BEL-8512
@$165 for all 4 corners

And the BILSTEINS HD
BSN-24-009294
BSN-24-009492
@ $290

For the lowered option, I assume, since you mention Bell Techs. I went to the BMR site and their lowering kit uses these Bilstein part numbers. T.C., do these accommodate as much as a 3" drop?

I switched to adjustable QA1's I had the KYB's and for me they did not last and ride was bouncy( on big bumps allowed tires to scuff wells)

Given how few miles I expect to put on the G-Bodies, I think the Bilsteins would last about forever anyway.

Yeah. I knew the bilsteins were good, I just wanted some opinions on the KYB. And the consensus is better safe than sorry. Spend a little more dough now to avoid a lot more later.

I've used Gas-A-Justs successfully in the past. They do have a lot of gas pressure in them. Do not cut the plastic retainer strap until you have the things bolted in or you will have a helluva time forcing them into place. That said, I noticed that they actually lifted the car maybe half an inch. Never noticed if they settled down later.

Don't waste your money on GR-2s. They are premium-priced 'eh' shocks. If your wallet prescribes 'eh', go with Monroes or something else less expensive.

On the other hand, I had Bilsteins (OEM) on the Bravada. I replaced them with GAJs and the ride is about the same as the 85K used Blisteins. My butt dyno tells me that the Bilsteins provided a crisper ride. You get what you pay for.

If anyone can enlighten me on Bilstein part numbers for 'short' shocks appropriate for a 2-3" drop, I would appreciate it. I have a wagon and I will need more damping when I bring the ground up close to the Flowmasters!

Not everyone can afford to plunk down the cash for Bilsteins. I know they're a superior product, but we're talking "bang for the buck" here, and I think for the money, KYB's are a quality product.

I understand being on a Budget. But buying a product that won't last means you will eventually spend 3X the money.

T.C.,
I'm just talking from experience here. I've had them in my car for probably over 25 yrs...if you can believe that. I feel I've gotten more than my money's worth out of them and they still ride like I installed them yesterday.
Perhaps they don't make them to last as long these days, but I feel I've been fortunate in that respect.
I do have Bilsteins in my Porsche, and I wouldn't use anything else...and they've been in there for probably close to 30 yrs.

A bit off topic but... I'm just curious what porsche do you have?
