Jack, be honest please, that is your wife's car right? That is beautiful car, how long have you had that?
What do you mean wife's car? That car is amazing! Way better than a newer porsche IMO. That car right there is a "Man with Class" car. I'm not too knowledgeable with porches but aren't there only a hand full of these still around? Is it an original or a replica??

Steve,
No, it's mine. I've owned it way before I knew my wife...40 yrs...a lot longer than I've owned anything...especially cars, and I tend to hold on to cars too long...lol!!

Thank you for the kind words...you're making me blush..😛
There had been approx. 79,000 of the 356 series manufactured from 1948-1965. Not a whole lot of cars.
It is fairly original and not a replicar, but was in sad shape when I first acquired it in '75. It has a later 912 engine that I've rebuilt twice, and it's been painted twice since I've had it. It's not a show car by any means, and it's certainly not perfect. It actually needs to be stripped and painted again....I don't think I have the energy anymore.

I like the kybs also but go with the gas-a-justs. Just bought a set of them and moog springs(5660's in front and cc627 in back). I have the same set up on both my cars.

Not to derail this thread, ( but I do have a soft spot for 356's). What is the ride height of your car with those springs? I'd like to lower my 85 a little. Currently it's at 25.5" from the ground to the fender opening with 30 year old worn out springs.

I can give you two measurements. On my 84 the rear sits at 27"s and the front is at 25 3/4", that's settled height, they have been on a few years now. On the 83 the rear is at 28 1/4" but that's right out the box. Just put them in so it hasn't settled in yet. The front will be in this weekend so I'll let you know about the fronts then.

Thanks for the update, Looking to drop an 1" from where I'm at now, but not sure what springs to get. I've heard alot of people running those springs, but no real world measurements, so look forward to see how your car turns out.
