I just got my stock blower motor with the metal fan yesterday. If the rest of the parts show up I'll do the install this weekend.

One thing to look at is how well our ac duct work is sealed, if we have a lot of leaks in the duct work it would cause low air vent pressure. I have recently been working on my 79 Malibu again tuned it up and in the process of getting the ac to work again. I've replaced the evaporator core, drier, accum. for a 79 model it has a serpentine kit off a early 90's S10 so the R4 compressor is on the passenger side I used the S10 compressor, manifold hose and hardline (aluminum line ) and a condensor for a 87 Grand National the fittings for it are on the passenger side and fits nicely. When I get the ac working ,using an alternative refrigerant, I'm going to look into alternatives to reseal the factory duct work with a two sided tape foam like for sealing windows in your home at the home improvement stores and may use some duct sealing tape like for your home ac ducts, it's just what I've thought of to fix the low vent pressure problems.

One product to use is 3M Strip caulk. It's what the factory used to seal the top of the heater box to the bottom. It doesn't get hard . I've been using it for 45 years, great stuff and only about $20.00 a box that last a long time and comes in handy around the house.

so honestly the turbobuick thread seems about 50/50 on success with the metal blower cage, can anyone here say 100 percent it makes a difference? even a lil bit more admittedly the biggest difference would likely be sealing up the leaks im sure it does have after all these years. might go metal cage and try to seal this pig up and get new ducting installed when i get a new dash from dixie monte next few years.

Turna,i've read your post on this, what parts did you end up running? you posted two set ups(g-body and pick up) and said you were gonna get the metal squirrel cage.
did you swap the just the blades themselves or the motors too?did you get the metal bladed one too?
