st-jean baptiste ,quebec,
I'm at the point of changing my body mounts bushings....

both, urethane and rubber mounts are available ...
pros & cons of both would be apreciated ....

does the urethane reflects the vibrations into the body or is it a mith?
I want the car to handle but not at the point of hearing all types of squeals and noises ...thanks

I'm glad that you ask this question, cause i have heard the same about urethane. But i have also heard that they last longer than rubber.

I have installed poly on a min. of 10 cars with no issues.

You may hear noise from poly when used in your suspension (if not properly lubed) but I never heard a thing from body bushings.

If they are moving around that much you gots other issues!!

Just did a 64 Tempest Convertible, only non stock parts were the poly body bushings and sway bar bushings.

If they were going to squeak,it would be on a rag top.

Car feels real solid and just floats down the road, no nioses.

Never use a trans mount that is stronger then your engine mounts.

Example, rubber engine, poly trans is no good.

Poly engine and rubber transmission is fine.

I use one poly on the driver side engine mount, rubber on passenger and poly trans on cars that see any street use.

Best of both worlds, more control with very little vibration.
