Buick Skyhawk T-Type

I've always kind of liked the Skyhawk/Firenza, though I have a soft spot for the 1.8 naturally-aspirated with the 5-speed.

Never been in the Olds version, but rode in 2 different 1.8 non-turbo T-Type Skyhawks. The seats are to die for!

Neat! I haven't seen one of those cars for ages. Don't think I've ever seen the T type model. The engine looks the same as what they used to use in the Pontiac Sunbird.

I always thought they were kinda cool cars, but I agree with gp, I liked the RWD first gen Skyhawks a lot better than the FWD second gens.

Oddly, I've only personally seen (ie: knew the people, rode in the car, etc) three Buick Skyhawks.

Two of the three were 5-spd 1.8L T-Types....

I would buy that and cruise it! I actually miss my 87 Lesabre T-Type. FWD I know, but they are great in the snow.

I had an 88 LeSabre T-Type myself . . and once again, a FANTASTIC interior.

Shoulda kept it, though the different lockup behavior programmed into its computer (lockup in 3rd at light throttle wouldn't happen until it was just about ready to go into 4th anyway) annoyed the crap out of me. That and minor issues here and there. Still, I found someone who was really into these cars, and said he was skeptical when his friend said "Hey, I found a LeSabre T-Type for sale" . . . . so at least I know it went to a good home.

As for the Skyhawk T-Type, if I could find a good one with working AC, a 1.8 and 5-speed, either Skyhawk or Firenza, I'd probably buy it and use it as a daily driver.

I LOVE the Lesabre T Types. My dad had one. I have always liked the Lesabres. One of our current family cars is a 94 Lesabre Limited, and while it may be 20 years old, it has options that new cars today don't even have! It truly is an old man's car, but I love it.

I had picked up the 87 way back when. It was black with the GN seating (87 only I believe), with a wrecked front end. I put a new front clip on it, and a 3in exhaust with a 40 series blowfaster, cold air intake, strut tower brace, system. Then the engine went, tossed a later engine in it with more power, a new windshield, and few other misc things. Then we had more kids and I bought a 3/4 ton lifted suburban on 35's, should have saw the wife getting in that knocked up

In any case, I miss the car and have been looking for one for the past few years, just because.
