I'll just say it again because why not.

-89-95 ish C4 vette with a factory stick (or at least a D44) for $4000 ish
-gen 4 6.0 with an LSA blower for 2 grand
-4l80e with a shift kit for $500
-$500 for fuel system
-$1000 for for exhaust and getting the engine bolted in
-$1000 for good adjustable shocks
-$1000 for miscellaneous
-$1000 for some good tires

Under $10 grand for an "older" car that will take down a hellcat.

I think that's as cheap as you will do it.

Where does Mike put his family in the bargain vette and what warranty comes with it?

The one thing to consider is that nagging concern every time you bury your foot in a built up "hot-rod" is if any one of these components fails me, it's gonna be expensive and I'm gonna have to fix it.

With a modern high performance car, I don't give a crap. Might be a phone call if I hurt it.

and I should add my son buys a dealer off leased car that comes with a full 5 year warranty, he saved about $40 k on his current BMW and it only had 16,000 kilometers on it when he purchased it.
You DO know the difference between a horse and a BMW, don't you?

And your car is fantastic for what it is. As is your son's.

I don't walk into the office, poke the closest barrel-chested guy in the shoulder and start taunting at him for not being as light or as quick as I am. That guy has his own merits and abilities based on his genetics (engineered for comfort, not speed). All that means is I am better at one, single, relatively meaningless thing - failing to consider the sum of the whole.

The issue is some people taking this whole argument out of context. Yes, you are as quick (or quicker) as the quickest fat guy. Congrats - you win the internet today. Feel better about yourself?
I think you might also be taking things a bit out of context as well.

If a g-body can match the track times of

Because 'new' cars never break. In the 1 in-a million chance they do, there's ALWAYS a smiling service advisor letting you know you're covered & the dealership/mfr is covering the full cost of the repairs 🙄

You'd be wrong, and then you realized it and just stopped writing.

I don't think Mike cares what car that's out there that can beat his Hellkitty, someone else started this thread and Mike never claimed his Hellkitty is the fastest beast in the world. The marketing they do on these Dodges sure is working.....🙄
