I'll just say it again because why not.

-89-95 ish C4 vette with a factory stick (or at least a D44) for $4000 ish
-gen 4 6.0 with an LSA blower for 2 grand
-4l80e with a shift kit for $500
-$500 for fuel system
-$1000 for for exhaust and getting the engine bolted in
-$1000 for good adjustable shocks
-$1000 for miscellaneous
-$1000 for some good tires

Under $10 grand for an "older" car that will take down a hellcat.

I think that's as cheap as you will do it.

I’m not adding a heated steering wheel, I hated mine, and it seems silly. I do think I can add everything else though for the originally stated budget of 20% if the parts are picked carefully.

I wouldn't. Everyone wants to measure against the best, it should be a compliment that wide booty Judy is the yardstick we use to determine if our builds are badass. I was one signature away from my kitty, then I decided that it would be more badass to build something like it. They are cool cars but it wont hold a candle to an M5, using the comfort/performance/power metric mike has laid out. We just don't think about the M cars in North America.

Mike can read and it's not hard to look up what the fastest Hellcat is and he didn't buy the fastest, he bought his Hellkitty with a stick which I think makes it much more of a car than the fastest Hellcat with an automatic transmission.........

Reading this “debate” has been humorous and entertaining to say the least.

I just think it’s awesome to live in a time where we can have a conversation about how to build our 40 year old malaise-mobiles to match the performance of an affordable, attainable 700 hp factory muscle car. Soak on that one for a second. I firmly believe we are living in the good old days. It doesn’t matter who’s dick is bigger anymore because we’re all huge!!
