J ,
problem is you have way too much head for the cam+intake ......
those 200cc heads flow like hell compared to a 234/244 dur cam wiith moderate lift ....

either you go bigger cam + victor junior ....
or trade heads for something more apropriate for the rest !

id say that your max hp was 6800 rpm and torque max 4400 tells the story ~!

I was kind of thinking that...My builder told me that the heads made the cam "bigger" meaning the HP #'s.....ANy cam suggestions you were thinking of??

You can aLways throw in a set of 1.6 rockers if your not already useing them that will make the lift bigger. Swap that intake for a victor and let it rip. Going from 1.5 to 1.6 rocker is good for about .030 to .040 extra lift there is a formala to figure out what it would be but for the life of me i cant remember i know its simple. I think you take the cam lobe lift and multiply it by 1.6 that give you your final lift.

do you have regular hydraulic flat tappets..

would you switch to roller lifters or you want to keep flat tappets

Right now I'm running the hydraulic flat tappet cam/lifters..I was thinking about going with a retro fit roller cam/lifters..

definitly change the intake. The heads flow but not as much as the intake is allowing. you can try using some spaces to get more volume. see how much that changes your time.

As far as the cam. Totally spend the money and go roller. more power and wide longer valve opening. should get that motor breathing good

then the comp cam XR300H retrofit camshaft is a great choice for you .....

that cam will work marvels with your heads !

hope you have around 10.25 to 1 cr ...

that thing will haul !!!!!!
combined with tghe victor jr. you better have traction !

dont put a too high stall t/c 3500 is more then enough !

This set is for the Big Block Chevy..I have a Small Block Chevy 🙂

Do yourself a favor call the cam company of your choice they will tell you whats the best cam. Also you will need a cam cut on a small base circle for cam to rod clearence. Unless the rods you are using have been ground for clearenced already.

Next time you go to the track heat up the Nitto's alot more. I was getting brutal 60's with my Nitto's because I was doing maybe a 3-5 second burnout. They supposedly love 15psi in them, it's a really stiff tire. From what people are saying either rip them up for 6-10 seconds, or do a quick burnout and get to the line and hope the other racer is deep staged.

I haven't gotten to go back on these tires since the first time 🙁
