IDK if you're wanting to be some what streetable with the gears, converter, etc. that you have, the XR300HR may be a little more than what you want. Most people would probably say it's too much for the streets, but that depends on what you call streetable. The custom solid roller I run in my SS is quite a bit larger and to me it's plenty streetable, others may not think so, but we all have our tastes and opinions. I agree call different cam manufacturers and tell them what you have and what you are looking for. Be realistic with your intentions for the car as far as how much you drive it on the street and they'll hook you up with a good selection. I've built some 383's and 406's for customers and friends and have run the Comp 292XFI-HR13 in these and they all seem to love the cam selection. I know it's a EFI cam and not really that radical, but because of it being ground with a 113 lobe separation it carries a little more vacuum and works well.

Chris , I think the same personnally......
but he has to ; either put a bigger cam to compliment the heads or remove those heads to lower those cc`s .....too big a port loose mid range velocity !

and he has a mid range cam + intake .....

I personally dont see why you say the heads are to big for cam he has .488 lift them heads flow max intake @ .500 lift and max exhaust @ .600. No where do i see them base heads on duration it all on lift. So in my opinion that cam is pretty close to being max for his heads. Me personally i feel his cam , heads and intake are starving the bottom end.
