Car Show Rant

Flemming442 is a smart guy. He's given me advice on my build as well. Good for him for having any awards from car shows. All I get is participation plaques! But I'm ok with that cuz I enjoy seeing classic cars and don't get salty when others win.
And for someone to complain about his accomplishments.....well jealous much? Haters gonna hate.
No, I don't get trophies or want them. I've achieved one "top 40" participant plaque with the 67 ,and it was completely unexpected.
I would rather watch somebody scratch their head, and ask questions than hang out all day waiting for the awards ceremony. The top 40 came because I noticed a sticker on my headlight; I had to ask what it meant.
My satisfaction comes from:
"What's that for?"
"Why did you do that?"
"Is that factory?"
Etc......

I have some extra gas for this fire.....

While I have never collected a trophy, I have written an article on a Megasquirt fuel injection installation that was used in a now defunct European magazine that I hold dearly and own one copy of said magazine.

I think this thread has shown more about what people believe in, hold dearly, strive for, believe their end goal is more than most would like to admit.

At the end of the day, build what you want, for whatever reason, whenever you want, to enjoy whatever results you thought you were striving for. If that's to beat your own deadline, get a trophy, get in a magazine, show your Father-in-law you know how car's work, JUST BUILD IT!

This car hobby is dying more and more every day but we need everyone n this thread that has passion to keep it going no matter what they think about anyone else that participates.

I don't care about "Trophies" or "likes" on a internet site, it's not a pissing contest! I'm just here for the chick's, kicks an beer! 😁

I build a car for ME, but l do enjoy someone coming up to me and asking questions or just making a positive remark about my cars.

I got security cameras at the shop an l get the greatest kick out of watching teenagers standing an having conversation's about the cars, they don't really know what there talking about but it's nice to see interest from our young generation.

My point is we all have our different things we appreciate and enjoy, that's why it our own lives to control.

So common that doesn't phase me, yet I feel the need to point it out occasionally..... psociopath much? No not me!

Don't mean to change the subject. I like chicks and beer, but. A idea I have been throwing around with the local Iowa people is. They have those flash mobs were a group get together and do some things in the middle of a random place. I want to do that with cars. Pick a place every month, (like a restaurant) and who ever can show up, shows up. We get together together, eat, BS, and show our cars and then leave. I think it would be a good way to meet a lot of us and keep in touch. I don't think the businesses would mind as long as we did not take up there whole parking lot. No pressure, do what you want, leave when you want, and meet like minded people. What do you guys think?
