Car Show Rant

JAMCAR223[/USER], I think maybe an attitude of appreciation and friendliness would go a long way. Look, as many here have said, we're happy for your accomplishments, and glad you're so passionate about car shows. But coming on here just to brag about your show wins...What does it do to help build the GBF community? Maybe consider posting information about future shows, share some tech tips, referrals to good mechanics or vendors, or asking or answering a few questions. Just a thought...
This will be my last post in this useless thread. I'll address your comment in order... First, I see you have been a Member here for less than a year ( actually tomorrow is your 1 year anniversary - Congratulations ), so you haven't been around long enough to see how friendly / likable I am. I don't make as many posts here as some ( although I have twice as many likes, as I do posts ) because I am a member of many different forums on the net. My GBodies are not my only hot rods. I am a member of many different FB groups, as well. I can't take you seriously when you say "an attitude of appreciation and friendliness" . Maybe you should go back and read some of my posts over the last 4.5 years...you might learn a little more about me.
Second, my accomplishments are for ME, I don't need any validation from anyone else. I don't come on here "just to brag" about my car show wins. I come on here to buy parts, sell parts, update my build thread, and read about other people's builds. And as a universal truth... It ain't bragging, if you can back it up! You haven't been here long enough to know that Chris ( yes the owner of this forum ) and I worked together to promote this forum at car shows. He sponsored 1 of my shows last year, but you haven't been here long enough to know. I have the GBF logo on my show display sign. What do you have to say now??
Third, what it does for the GBody community as a whole, is proves that a grocery-getter, Grandma car from the 80's can still compete with cars much cooler, costing 3, 4, 5 times more than my mine. It keeps GBodies current, even though most write them off as not being a serious / collectible car. It keeps the aftermarket on their toes, letting them know our cars are here for good, and it would be in their best interest to R&D parts for restoration / performance, and bring them to market. As long as GNX's / GN's keep climbing in value, it brings ALL GBodies with them. All of us can appreciate that.
Fourth, I used to post every GBody's of Houston event on here, and not one person ever showed up from this forum. But you haven't been here long enough to know. Ask a couple LONG TIME members here how I've helped them with referrals for paint, and transmission work, and how thankful they were. Look back at the testimony I've given about vendors good & bad... you haven't been here long enough to know. Answer questions... what would YOU like to know??
Lastly, I'm a competitor, a winner, a champion... I'll never be ashamed of that. I would hope you feel the same way about yourself. Just my thoughts...

most of the shows i go to are local @a restaurant of sorts.just a cruise in.usually the ones with their hand out is collecting for a cause like the DARE foundation or children's hospital.went to one this summer to raise money for a fallen police officers family,he died in the line of duty.shows like that I've got no problem handing it over.trophy's are dust collectors.

Flemming442 is a smart guy. He's given me advice on my build as well. Good for him for having any awards from car shows. All I get is participation plaques! But I'm ok with that cuz I enjoy seeing classic cars and don't get salty when others win.
And for someone to complain about his accomplishments.....well jealous much? Haters gonna hate.
