Carburetor question

If it is "struggling" to go uphill..
Is it jerking?
Is it laying down and if you ease up on the throttle does it accelerate a bit?
If it is jerky it is usually ignition. If it lays down it is usually fuel starvation.
Back to basics.
Fuel filter?
Look at distributor cap and ignition wires for corrosion.
Last plug change?
 
I believe all MCSSs in Canada were also computer controlled.
I believe you are right. It makes sense GM didn't have a separate calibration for the Performance V8's. There will be a bunch of the 1708 Qjet's at wreckers here who still have old stuff especially sbc 305 since only the big cars got the Olds 307. I can tell you the 3 non CCC Olds 307 Qjet's I had, still have a 85 on the shelf in pieces were calibrated ridiculously lean.
