I just brought a 1984 Cutlass with a 3.8 V6 will a 1979 carburetor for a 3.8 V6 fit on it I'm trying to save some money help a brother out

Not if you still run off the computer. To use that one you would have to swap the distributor to a vacume advance unit and the smog eqmt won't work with it either if that's still in place.

Take the air cleaner off and look to see if there are electrical connections on the carb. If so it's still on the computer.

I just brought the car from an old guy and he said it needed a carburetor not tryna to kick out a lot for it since I'll be changing the motor just want it
