Houlie, the comment was not directed in your direction, but at the general idea of someone needing to pass a test to be a part of the group. (It almost sounds like you are a pledge joining a biker gang or something...:lol🙂 Seriously though, knock off the crap everyone. This board requires little of anyone to be accepted, and that is the way we like it. If you cannot behave by our normal rules of expected civility, or are THAT thin skinned, this may not be the forum for you. This is not the place for some sort of stupid E-Turf war, and that goes for everyone. Everyone is welcome here unless they become excessively abusive or love to post nothing but spam.
TURNA, I will also say that if they wish to have their club, by all means let them. There is nothing that says you MUST join them because of the car you own. If they want to have their rules and such, let them. There is no reason to have a chip on your shoulder about it, and you are free to form your own group that is not subject to their rules if you wish. They are free to do what they wish. That is how a free society works.
As for my opinion, I agree with TURNA in principle, but would probably have worded it better. I tend not to like elitist groups who only promote their own narrow minded set of ideas. To me, a G body is a G body. No matter what emblems GM glued to the car when it was new, they are all the same damn car technically. Will I be going to this get together? No. I can't even afford to put enough gas in my car to go to a local cruise night, let alone drive to Pennsylvania. However, I would go if it was in my back yard. So long as I was not stuck with a bunch of elitists, be they into G bodies or Toyotas, I could have fun. It's supposed to be a hobby, so don't take it (or yourself) so seriously! 😀
