Hello,
I just wanted to confirm that my 1979 el camino has no check engine light or any kind of diagnostics. From my chiltons manual there is no check engine light on the 79 then when I looked at the 1980 it had one. Obd1 started in like 82 right? I bought the car not running and am in the process of putting in new gauges so I just wanted to confirm this before I got to far into it. Thanks for the help

Also does anyone have an idea of what these wires are? They were never connected

SOME 1980 model year US market cars got computers and CELs.

1981 all US market cars got computers and CELs

OBD1 as we know it today began with 1982 model year

1979 would not have had a computer or CEL

The photos posted appear to depict the OE radio power/ground/illumination plug
