SScamino, I was driving the bu 3 hours one way to Texas A&M, which is nothing but wide open farm land. I often swapped rear ends on the weekends. Only time I got up past 160 is when I was driving to school with my stock 2.29 gears. Then on weekends I would swap in the 3.73 rear end for fun.

Do you have a Ford rear?

And that one part where you said 8500 rpm was only 110-115. What does that make 160 at? 16,000? haha.

That's the part that doesn't add up. 3.73 gears, 26" tall tires (assumption) and a 1:1 trans ratio gives 176-177mph @ 8500rpm.

So if he was doing 160 and the tach read 8500 that would be believeable but definitely not 110-115.

Guys, let me clear this up. I was using a 2.41 rear end when this happened, NOT the 3.73's. No way in hell anyone with a TH350 and 3.73 gear could touch 160mph.
