A piece of firewood split into quarters makes a fair wheel chock, but a purpose-made rubber triangle block is the best. Always chock the wheels when lifting the car.

I don't think that is a problem, i was having issues with my glove box and i ended up attaching a wire to a black box where warm air blows at your feet, that thing (thunnel thing) had a completely worn out screw so i installed a new clip type screw that widens when you screw a flathead into it.. I hope that was a good call. But I don't think that is relevant.
When you mention water, the carpets are always wet under the mats, i tried to remove my passenger mat and the carpet became dry after that.

I bought a really Cheap Garage Jack, a red Hamron jack, 20 bucks.. i hope it doesn't screw anything up. I'll get jack stands for when i crawl under the car. But i'll visit a local garage club with a car lift and all of that anyways 🙂 .

I noticed that when I backed up my car (full lock) the car kind of jumped a bit. it happened twice (both times while parking), but when i tested this to show a friend at a parking lot it didn't happen. The surface was completely flat all three times.

Yes, keep the cable connected to the speedometer. Jack up the car from either under the front cross member, or the rear axle/ differential.
Make sure you place jackstands under the corners of the frame...otherwise don't crawl underneath the car without it being supported. I've heard too many grizzly stories of either the jack giving out, or cheap jackstands collapsing and people getting killed or seriously injured.
I can't stress safety enough.

DO NOT....I repeat, DO NOT jack the car up by the bumpers. If you're jacking up the front only, it wouldn't hurt to place bricks or chocks under the rear wheels...just the opposite if you jack up the rear.

The parking brake will only work on the rear wheels.

I found it easier to remove the speedo cable from the back of the cluster, jack up the rear axle and start the car, put it gear to see it it clicks or take it for a run around block
